V8 Supercars is a touring car racing that runs under the regulations of Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, which is commonly referred to as FIA, as an International Series. The events of V8 Supercars are held in all the states and territories of Australia except for the Australian Capital Territory that held the Canberra 400 before. Australia is not the only country to hold V8 Supercar events as there are also other countries around the world in which the V8 Supercar events take place such as the United States, New Zealand, China, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. Race formats differ from one event to another as there are street races that range from 125 to 250 kilometers in length and the sprint races which are shorter since they range from 100 to 200 kilometers. There are also two-driver endurance races which are held at Gold Coast, Bathurst and Sandown.

Enjoying watching V8 Supercars is not restricted to specific places or countries as there are more than 137 countries in which the series is broadcast. The average number of those people who attend V8 Supercar events is approximately 100,000 people but those who attend the major events are more as they are about 250,000 attendants such as those who were present in the Clipsal 500. There are certain features that should be available in the vehicles which are used in the series since the used vehicles should be four-door saloon cars and 5.0-litre with a control chassis, specific body panels and V8-engine which is naturally aspirated. At the beginning, the series was limited to certain manufacturers which are Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons.

Now, it has become completely different as the new V8 Supercar regulations opened the way to more manufacturers to enter the series starting from 2013 including Nissan with four Nissan Altimas and Erebus Motorsport came after Nissan with three Mercedes Benz E63 AMGs. Nissan and Erebus were followed after that by Volvo which has recently entered the series in 2014 with Garry Rogers Motorsport. The International V8 Supercars Championship which is also known as the Australian Touring Car Championship has allowed drivers since 1960 to receive a driver’s title as an award and there are also other titles that are awarded now to teams and manufactures for encouraging them.
