Vivio Technologies VPS Review – Facts & Truth

Check Vivio Company Offers

Vivio Technologies has added more bandwidth, more disk space, and more backup space to all accounts by default. These free resource upgrades can be taken advantage of by both current clients, and new clients alike!

Bandwidth:

For VPS Accounts, default bandwidth pipe has been upgraded from 3Mbps to 10Mbps, and for Dedicated Servers, bandwidth has been upgraded from 5Mbps to 10Mbps.

Vivio has been growing considerably over the past year, since they last upgraded their bandwidth limits, and they now push quite a bit more traffic than they used to. This means they’re able to negotiate with their upstream providers for better rates, and in turn pass the savings on to you!

Disk Space:

Their new VPS Platform Machines are immense machines, with up to 16 ultra-fast DAS, SAS drives on each VPS Platform. The size of disk drives has gone up, while the cost of the drives has gone down. Now, not only are their RAID 10 drive arrays faster then they ever have been, but they also hold more then they ever have in the past. This increase in available drive space means that they can, once again, pass the savings on to you.

VPS Accounts have been upgraded from 40, 60, and 80GB partitions to 80, 120, and 160GB partitions by default now.

Backup Space:

Like with Disk Space, Backup Space has been upgraded. Specifically, they tried to match up backup space with the size of their VPS Partitions for VPS Accounts. With compression ratios on backups being at the very least 50%, this means you can completely fill your VPS Partition, and still have backups for at least two backups. They wanted to make absolutely sure that anyone could have backups of whatever they were doing.

VPS Accounts have been upgraded from 20GB, 40GB, 40GB, to 80GB, 120GB, 200GB for Standard, Premium, and Ultra accounts respectively.

** Upgrading Process **

How to Upgrade Your Existing VPS (For Current Clients)?

As you’re as excited about the account upgrades (for current clients) as they are offering it! The following will explain the upgrade process involved for each account type in their system.

Start out by placing the order for the new account type that you’d like (Don’t worry, your card will not be charged at that time), and on the last page of the order process, there is a special instructions box. In the Special Instructions text area, simply indicate that the order is an upgrade order and include the Order Number or Service Number of the account that you’d like us to upgrade for you. If you don’t have or don’t know your order number or service number, or you need any other kind of help, just send them an email at [email protected] and they’ll take good care of you!

Citrix Xen Accounts:

Vivio’s current VPS Platform is Citrix XEN. If you’re VPS Already resides on a Citrix XEN server, upgrading is very easy. The only time-consuming process is re-sizing the drive partition. Re-sizing the partition may take as long as 30 minutes, and may require a migration to a different platform machine depending on the free space available on the current platform. They will work closely with you every step of the way, and ensure that your site suffers as little down time as possible.

HyperVM Accounts:

Accounts currently based in HyperVM will need to be imported into Citrix XEN. This process can take as little as 30 minutes or several hours depending on the site of your VM. However, once imported into Citrix XEN, the process of upgrading is exactly like the Citrix XEN Upgrade process.

CentOS 3 or 4 Accounts:

If you’re currently hosting on a CentOS 4 or CentOS 3 VPS, it is highly recommended that you upgrade your accounts right away! Vivio’s migration team can assist you with the migration process and help make the transition as smooth as possible.

If you’re migrating from a CentOS 3 or CentOS 4 account, a new VPS will need to be created for you, and your site and services will need to be moved statically. Again, Their migration team is very good with these kinds of migrations, and will work closely with you to ensure that the migration is as quick and painless as possible.

  1. Is this host actually located in India? I heard rumours and actually their customer service can hardly speak English. They were no help when I wanted to transfer my domain to them.

  2. Vivio Technologies is a pretty good host. I have no complaints and I currently host 3 domains with them. Everything posted here is accurate!
