Five Steps to Effortlessly Use Clip-in Hair Extensions

Hair extensions are widely used not only for whimsical looks and celebrity hairdos but in everyday life too in order to achieve a fuller, thicker mane and/or add precious inches of length to your natural hair.  However, when presented with hair extensions for the first time, one may be confused about how to fit their first set of clip-ins in their hair.

If you are just starting your journey with hair extensions, here are a few tips that can help you wear clip-in hair extensions effortlessly.

Just as before every hairstyle, the first thing you’ll need to do is get rid of any tangles. Detangling is essential to achieve effortless sectioning, which will make the application process much easier and will favor sturdy, durable wear..

Once detangled, separate a small section of your hair at the nape of your neck. Make sure that this line is straight to make your clip in hair extensions look naturally placed: you can use a rat-tail comb to ease this process. Tie up with the rest of your hair above, using sectioning clips or a claw clip to hold it up. Let’s just work with one strand first.

If you are just starting your journey with hair extensions, here are a few tips that can help you wear clip-in hair extensions effortlessly.

1 Clip Close to the Roots

Now that you have parted your hair grab a soft paddle brush and comb your clip-in hair extensions.. Take a weft from your bundles and make sure that it fits the hair section that you made previously.

Once everything is in order, start clipping the clip-in extensions as close to your roots as possible.

2 Repeat the Process

Once you get the clip to fit perfectly in the first partition, you can proceed with the rest of the sections, using the available wefts accordingly. You have to create neat partitions and clip the extensions as close to the roots as possible to avoid hair bumps.

If you see any bumps in your hair, take off the clip-on weft and try to clip it closer to the roots.

3 Remember the Sides

Even if getting longer hair is your main goal, do not forget to add clip-in extensions to both sides of your head. If you take sides for granted, your hair will look volume-less, and the layers will not blend in.

Therefore, make sure that you apply small wefts close to your hairline on both sides.

4 Brush and Check

Once you feel satisfied with the volume and look of your hair, take a detangling hair extensions brush and run it through your hair gently. Make sure that there are no bumps. In addition, look out for any imbalances or unclipped wefts.

If everything looks fine, you are good to go ahead and have another flawless day.
