4 Things You Have to Do on South Beach

There are vacations, and then there are trips you take with your friends or romantic partner and have a ball. The latter is how we describe a trip to Miami. We’re not saying Miami isn’t a family vacation destination—it can be—but it’s a place well-known as an adult’s playground. Sure, some parts of the country are still on lockdown, but this doesn’t mean you can’t plan for the future. Plus, Miami recently opened their nightlife scene back up, so depending on where you sit with COVID beliefs and concerns, it’s an option. It’s best to stay prepared either way, so when you make it to this tropical-ish destination, you know right where to go!

1 Wet Willies

You can’t say you truly experienced South Beach if you don’t have a “Call a Cab” from Wet Willies. This is one of those bars right on Ocean Drive that everyone stops at least once a day, possibly multiple times because it’s such a hot spot. They have a wide variety of tasty slushy drinks that contain robust amounts of liquor, hence, why you’ll need to call a cab. They have 16 different frozen slushy beverages, with “Call a Cab” and “Attitude Adjustment” being among the strongest.

Wet Willies has a full menu with some pretty good appetizers. This is by far the most sought out tourist location on South Beach, but the hours are adjusted at the moment due to COVID closing at 11 pm EST.

2 Take Some Pics at the Versace Mansion

The Versace Mansion is nestled between 11th and 12th street on Ocean Drive. However, now it’s The Villa Casa Casuarina Resort, and you can even stay there for roughly $500 a night. It’s one of the most beautiful architectural designs in all of Florida, with each room painted in great detail. The entire home, now a hotel, totals 23,000 square feet of luxurious living space. It’s another one of those spots people stop and have photoshoots in front of because of its reputation and beauty.

3 Visit La Sandwicherie Miami Beach

After you’ve had a couple of drinks at Wet Willies and took a few photos in front of the Versace Mansion, it’s time to eat. Sure, you could go for one of those fancy plates right on Ocean Drive—or—you could get one of the most delicious deli sandwiches your taste buds will ever experience from La Sanwicherie Miami Beach.

They’ve been creating these tasty, one-of-a-kind sandwiches since 1988 and have more than one location in Miami. But to get a dose of the real experience, you have to visit the original location on 14th street on South Beach. It’s a small sandwich shop nestled between an alley and a gas station, but the food speaks for itself. Oh, and it’s very inexpensive so that it won’t put a dent in your wallet like everything else in Miami!

4 Take a Stroll Down Espanola Way

Both tourists and locals flock to this area to do some shopping and have a little fun with local performers you encounter while making your way down Espanola Way. This is a lovely stretch of shops, dining, and everything in between. There are even a few CBD shops close by that people can’t get enough of. This has lots to do with CBD gummies being wildly popular in Miami because they work wonders for hangovers.

If you know about CBD gummies and love them already, CBDfx makes a tasty gummy made with only nine ingredients! This is a huge deal because it’s such a task locating gummies with all-natural ingredients. But it’s all worth the hassle because they’re a tasty way to stay on top of health and wellness—and hangovers too! This is all made possible because they provide therapeutic benefits thanks to the interaction between the cannabinoids and endocannabinoids system.

Final Thoughts

If you’re feeling up for a trip and want to experience Miami to the fullest, make sure you do these three things. It’s not the ideal time to travel, but flights and rooms are quite affordable at the moment. Still, even if you decide to go later, you have a good starting point!
