Pulling Your Look Together

You can make every outfit appear to be different and fresh in a matter of minutes, depending on what you add or subtract to it. Here is a quick look at a single look and a few simple tricks and tips to pull your look together with ease:

Look: Laid Back Professional

We have all seen those guys who seem to prefer the roll-out-of-bed-and-throw-something-on look. You can make sure that even though your look is laid back, it remains crisp. You do this by only wearing high-quality pieces, such as the performance shirts you can find from Mizzen+Main. These are great because they are resistant to wrinkles so you don’t even need to iron them to look sharp. They are super comfortable and easy to care for, too. No dry cleaning needed, just throw them in the washer.

When it comes to your hair and this look, fashionably unkempt might be great. Picture David Tennant’s hair style in Doctor Who, or, if you want something messier, Dean Ambrose’s WWE hairstyle. It doesn’t matter what color your hair is, if you have highlights, or even blue hair, it will look great.

Don’t forget to accessorize either. You might wear a big watch with this look, or even a gold hoop in your ear. Keep it simple though and don’t make the mistake of over accessorizing. Over accessorizing can lead to one or two pieces distracting the eye from the overall look, and you don’t want that. Remember that your accessories can make or break any outfit.

And while this is one complete ensemble, let’s take a peek at a few individual pieces that shape a look.

Blazers

If you happen to be in search of a way to state your presence as a man, you should invest in a staple for your wardrobe – a blazer. Then, you need to actually wear it. This is something that you will be able to wear anywhere, nail that first impression, and then you can take it off if you like.

The Scent

Let’s face it… when a man walks by and he smells good, it can be a massive turn on. In fact, if you ever listen to the radio, you will know that there are even songs about missing the scent of a man. You need to put some effort into finding your preferred scent. Then, you need to apply it sparingly; just a spritz at the neck and on your wrist will suffice.

Jeans

How can a pair of jeans let people know you are boss? The thing is, they won’t… right away. When you are in high school, the chances are good that you just didn’t own a pair of jeans that were simple, clean, and well-fitting. You might have come close with a pair or two, but would miss the target with things like them having a weird loop at the back, being faded, or have whiskering, etc. The absolute minimal jean (in dark blue) is the one that men finally graduate to when they leave their teenage years behind. This can be a fantastic item when it comes to pulling a look together. They work well with just about anything.

Shoes

Shoes will always be an important part of any look. You will more than likely want to get comfortable ones (who wants their feet hurting all day?) that are eye–pleasing, and can be used with more than a single look. A great pair of shoes is one that will accent what you wear and bring it all together. You need to have both casual and dress shoes, so that whatever look you are going for, you can pull it off. Bringing a look together doesn’t have to be hard. Just pick out a few items that look good together and build from there.
