Interview with VPS.net Company

Thanks for taking the time to talk to pouted.com.

1.) Can you please tell our readers a little bit about yourself, history you have in hosting industry and enlighten us how VPS.net started and how it grew to what it is today?

Our parent company, UK2Group, has been in business since 1998, first launching as UK2.NET, one of the first domain registrars in the United Kingdom. Since then UK2 has grown dramatically, with offices in 4 different countries, and services that scale from Shared Hosting all the way up to Dedicated Hosting, and private cloud offerings.

VPS.NET launched in 2009 as a new product line for the UK2Group.
VPS.NET was one of the first cloud hosting providers out there, and developed it’s own backend software, which has now become OnApp. We’re proud of our accomplishments in our limited history, and can’t wait to continue to deliver innovative products to the consumers.

2.) VPS.net offers many different solutions and services; can you briefly talk about each of them?

Our primary focus is doing cloud servers, however we also offer other services, like cloud hosting and content delivery networks. A cloud server works just like a dedicated server or a traditional VPS, only there are additional redundancies in place. As well, with a cloud server, you’re able to add or remove resources on the fly, as necessary, reducing your cost, as you only pay for the resources that you need.

Our cloud hosting is a new product that we recently launched. It uses our cloud server infrastructure to offer customers requiring highly scalable and high availability an affordable option. It works great for customers who need the advantages of the cloud, but either don’t have the budget or the server administration skills that a cloud server requires.

Our content delivery network is something that we say can “supercharge” a website. It works by storing your static content in over 30 different locations around the world. It’s then able to deliver this content from the closest location to your website’s visitors. What this does it makes your website just absolutely fly, as the latency between the server and the visitor is minimal.

3.) What separate VPS.net from the competitors?

VPS.NET has a number of strong suits that our enterprise customers absolutely love. The most basic is that we’re backed by the UK2Group, a company that’s been in business since 1998 – we’ve been here for awhile, and we’ll continue to be here when you need us. Additionally, we’re one of the largest cloud hosting providers in the world. This means we have more experience than nearly all of our competitors – we’ve implemented solutions that other cloud vps providers don’t even have the infrastructure, yet alone the experience to successfully pull it off.

4.) VPS.net has been given many Hosting awards. Can you go into a little more detail about it?

We’ve received numerous awards for our customer service, our reliability, and the ease of operating on our platform, and we’re proud of all of them.

5.) Please share more about VPS.net’s data centers and reliability?

VPS.NET utilizes a total of 6 different datacenters in 5 locations.
Our 5 locations are Atlanta, Georgia, Chicago, Illinois, Salt Lake City, Utah, London, England and Haarlem, Netherlands (Amsterdam). All of our datacenters go through a strict due diligence program to ensure that meet our rigorous standards, requiring redundancies on every level.

6.) Some people just don’t want to deal with moving from one host to another host. Does VPS.net offer any services to make this moving easier?

We do offer multiple unique programs to make our customers migration period easier. For our cloud servers, customers who purchase 6 or more nodes will receive free migration assistance. If you purchase less than 6 nodes, we’re still willing to help out through what is called an ‘on-demand ticket,’ where you can rent an engineer of ours for $10 for an entire day.

For our cloud hosting customers, we migrate their content entirely free of charge as a bit of a welcome to our company.

7.) We feel very important about customer support. What does VPS.net do in terms of customer support? Also, what support options ?

We understand that customer service is a critical aspect to web hosting, which is why all of our customer service representatives are employed directly by VPS.NET. We utilize a support desk for all support transactions, as it allows us to thoroughly monitor the quality of our responses, ensuring our customers receive the level of service they deserve.

8.) What are the major changes you are planning to do in the future? What are the short term goals for VPS.net and where do you see you going in the next years?

We have many new innovative products waiting to be rolled out that will further strengthen our core product offerings. We’ll also be continuing to launch new cloud locations, and upgrade our infrastructure, allowing our customers to continue to scale their business with VPS.NET.

9.) Before we go, do you have any current offers, coupons or special deals that our readers can use?

We actually do – we’re very happy to offer your customers a coupon code for 25% off the 1st month. Simply use the coupon code ‘NIK8E’ at signup, and 25% will taken off the first invoice.
