How are the Durians like when it comes to Taste and Quality?
For this review, we’ll be checking out their best seller; Malaya Crest Durian, a premium variant of the well known Musang King durian breeds
Packaging: It comes in a sturdy premium box and vacuumed sealed packs that keeps the durian at its optimal freshness and protects it throughout the delivery. It does make sense because the fruits’ flesh are indeed very soft and delicate
The Taste: For this specific variant, it has a very strong sweet flavor for starter and an immediate bitter end-note at the end of it, almost like coffee but it has a nice creamy texture.
The Smell: A hard argument to solve, it has a very strong fragrant aroma for those who loved it, and opposites for those who aren’t. Upon opening its vacuumed packed seal, you’ll be welcome by its aroma, it is no doubt that their durians are processed fresh upon its harvest
Durian Experience also packed their durians in small vacuum pouches. Each pouch contain a few fresh durians pulps, it is a great way to share it with your friends and family, if you’re looking for a fun social foodie experience
A quick heads up! Durian doesn’t grow in the US. or in most parts of the world. It only grows in super specific spots along the equator, mostly in Southeast Asia.
Having such a problem makes having a Fresh durian fruit a very difficult hurdle to face. But that’s where Durian Experience comes in. They harvest the fruit, crack it open, pack it up, and freeze it all within 24 hours, then ship it straight to the US. So yeah, it’s probably the freshest durian you can get without hopping on a flight.
Tell us about the process of selecting and receiving the durians!
The ordering of the durians was quick and easy. I could pick different varieties available for that day. Delivery comes with two options, express and standard delivery which takes 2 days and 5 days respectively across the USA!
Surprisingly, the durians come in a cold-control packaging, something no other company has done before even for regular fruits. A huge thumbs up for the Durian Experience team in keeping their words for making sure all durians do really arrive in their optimal condition.
After that it’s really simple, we just have to thaw the durians for it to reach room temperature just like how it should be, and it’s a durian buffet after that! A quick note, you can also enjoy it at frozen temperature just like an ice cream too!

I’d totally recommend the Durian Experience! If you’re on the hunt for fresh durians in the USA, this is the brand to go with. Their quality, portion and price are undoubtedly to be one of the best. Honestly, you won’t find anything fresher unless you hop on a plane to Asia and eat one straight off the tree.
Awesome packaging, great variety of durian types, and the prices? Way more friendly than you’d expect. I’d say grab one for your next social hangout, it makes for a super fun and unforgettable group experience.
