On the other hand, I have been hosting with Godaddy for over 4 years now and have never had a problem with them. I do know why people are complaining though. Their hosting interface is not user friendly but when it comes to support, they are top notch at what they do. Godaddy offers speedy support so the two hosting companies are practically the same but this depends on what you value the most in hosting. Some people are interested in customer support, while other people want the most features for the least amount of money. Others will also prefer a hosting provider that is easy to use.
BlueHost really isn’t competitive with Godaddy. For example, Godaddy is $6.99 monthly for a regular hosting plan while BlueHost is $9.95 monthly. Keep in mind that when you sign up with BlueHost, you need to pay in advance for at least 3 months. Godaddy has the upper hand because you are able to pay monthly and is a few bucks cheaper. As you can see, the pricing structure really isn’t a big difference. Also, BlueHost gives you about 50 databases when Godaddy only allows up to 25. Now, if you want to upgrade with Godaddy, you can otherwise if you are hosting 1-10 websites – it shouldn’t be a problem for you.
BlueHost allows you to call them toll free, while GoDaddy does not offer a toll free number. You are actually calling their location center and if you live far, without long distance – you will most likely be losing money more than saving.
As for the added features, you’ll quickly learn that BlueHost gives you free services while Godaddy tries to limit everything. As for Godaddy, their interface is not user friendly and with BlueHost, you can easily access those features. I usually have to call up Godaddy just to see where something is hidden and this can be a pain.
Now, if you are hosting many websites, we do recommend Godaddy. This provider is usually better for those who are technically advanced when it comes to hosting companies. If you are new to the Internet, we strongly suggest you go with BlueHost.
