“The Bible” Receives Three Emmy Award Nominations

The Bible between the holy book and the miniseries
The word “Bible” is used to refer to two holy books which are the holy book of the Christian religion and the holy book of the Jewish religion. Although the same name is used to refer to two holy books of two different religions, the two religious books are not the same and they are completely different in their order and content. The holy book of the Jewish religion which is known as the Hebrew Bible contains twenty four books which are divided into three parts; the Torah which is about teaching or the law of God that is given to Moses and this is recorded in the first five books, Nevi’im which is about prophets and Ketuvim which is about writings.
For the Christian Bible, you will find that the number of its books varies according to the canon as it contains sixty six books and this is for the Protestant canon, while in Ethiopian Orthodox Church canon it contains eighty one books. The Old Testament forms the first part of the Christian Bibles and it contains twenty four books of the Hebrew Bible that are divided into thirty nine books and their order differs from that of the Hebrew Bible. The second part of the Christian Bibles is the New Testament and it contains twenty seven books which include the twenty one Epistles or letters, four Canonical gospels, Acts of the Apostles and the Book of Revelation. The Hebrew Bible is commonly known among Jewish groups as “holy”, while the Christians call their Old and New Testaments “The Holy Bible”.
