Oscars’ Winners And The 85th Academy Awards Ceremony
The 85th Academy Awards Ceremony or the Oscars which honored the best films of 2012, it took place on 24 February 2013 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles. It was presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, this ceremony was televised in the USA by ABC. The actor Seth Macfarlane hosted the academy awards and it was his first time.
The nominees were announced on 10 January 2013 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California by the actor Seth Macfarlane and the actress Emma Stone.
Denzel Washington – Flight, Bradley Cooper – Silver Linings Playbook, Daniel Day-Lewis – Lincoln, Hugh Jackman – Les Misérables and Joaquin Phoenix- The Master were nominated, but the Oscar of BEST ACTOR goes to Daniel Day-Lewis . Jennifer Lawrence – Silver Linings, Playbook, Emmanuelle Riva – Amour, Jessica Chastain – Zero Dark Thirty, Quvenzhané Wallis – Beasts of the Southern Wild and Naomi Watts – The Impossible were nominated, and the Oscar of BEST ACTRESS goes to Jennifer Lawrence . For Best Director : Amour – Michael Haneke, Lincoln – Steven Spielberg, Silver Linings Playbook – David O Russell, Life of Pi – Ang Lee and Beasts of the Southern Wild – Behn Zeitlin were nominated while the Oscar goes to Life Of Pi – Ang Lee. Best Picture goes to Argo, Best Supporting Actor goes to Christoph Waltz – Django Unchainedand The Best Actress to Anne Hathaway – Les Misérables.
